I have a friend who's looking to work in Gaithersburg for the summer. Are there any particular places she should aim for/avoid? I'm thinking mainly along the lines of crime and horrendous traffic.

I assume that if she were to go west on 270 in the morning, it would be a reverse commute, right? She asked me to help her look since she's in NC until the end of May, and I don't want to steer her wrong.

Thanks!

I answered this in the DC Forum. Maybe it should be here. NORTH on 270 is a "reverse" commute in the morning . It's not bad. There are no really bad areas in Gaithersburg, but west of 270 is nicer than east of it.

The only issue is the Lakeforest Mall, it's steadily rising in crime. It's truly disappointing.
