Can anyone shed some light for me on race relations in Calvert County? We are potentially moving to Owings and I wanted to see if anyone has had any experiences with racism or has heard of any racial issues in the northern part of the county.

I am white and my wife is black. We are not worried so much about her safety as we are about raising a mixed child in the area and the child experiencing racism or colorism and their experience in school. Thanks.

I dont attend school in Calvert County, but I do have friends which do, yeah well your mixed child is most likely going to experience minor amounts of racism(and racist jokes) from fellow classmates, other than that you and your wife should be good,

Not sure what is funny, especially about something you probably know nothing about.

I know ,right? A mixed married couple wanting to know if their child will face any racist remarks in school from other kids? Seems like a question you might want to ask yourselves before you get married or even think that as a couple did they ever receive racist comments about the two of them and whom made those comments???

I think he/she meant/(were asking )if their mixed race child were at risk of getting physically bullied for their race, or hate crimed (which obviously wouldn’t happen in Calvert), not just verbal racism

What's with the douchey replies? Why wouldn't someone ask about this before moving to a new area?
