For transplants in the area, what made you choose Maryland?

For me, when looking for a place to settle, I was actually looking in DC, Arlington, and MoCo. Ended up in MoCo, because I found a place that I liked. All 3 areas has neighborhoods that met my criteria, so I wasn’t necessarily particular about choosing Maryland vs Virginia vs DC.

Suitland/Camp Springs here. For me it was the best value for housing in the metro area combined with being so close to everything (less than 15 minutes to Navy Yard and Old Town Alexandria, less than 10 minutes to the Branch Ave Metro and work). I refuse to spend half my life commuting.

Move to DC for school. In my time in the DC area, I've lived in Virginia, DC and Maryland. Moved to Prince George's for QOL and cheaper rent. I do plan to move back to DC but wouldn't rule out living in Maryland again in the future.
