Well Live_stron28 I would disagree with you on companies and location trends. There is this new phenomenon called Gentrification. D.C. is a prime example of low income areas once plagued by violence and criminal activity. Now they are blossoming with mixed-used developments and walkable neighborhoods around metro rail stops.

14th and U streets. Columbia Heights are just some examples of neighborhood transformation. P.G. is and will be the next area of major development for the entire D.C. area.

Now that places are over developed and causing serious gridlock in the region, they suggest looking at development near the metro stations in P.G.

I think that is smart only because it will help to alleviate congestion and take cars off the road. We have way too many people on the road at one time going the same direction. If the area hopes to continue to grow, fixing the gridlock in this area definitely needs to be addressed and fixed. This will also allow P.G. to shine. Believe it or not, P.G. is in a position to really explode through growth and development. Hopefully we will learn from Fairfax, Arlington and Montgomery County how to develop in a smart manner. People get ready it's P.G.'s turn to shine.

Generally speaking, companies only want to set down roots and locate jobs in areas that are low in crime and where education is the best. That's why Jack Johnson has been unable to lure companies to PG and that's why he has to spend gobs of taxpayer money to travel to Africa and China to lure foreign business.

Jack's business plan is to increase retail and build more communities so that he can tax builders and homebuyers to death.

That's why the median price of a home in "upscale" Bowie is less than 400k, while the median price of a home in upscale McLean is as high as 2.2 mil.

Race has nothing to do with it.

Here are some corporation headquarter in Prince Georges MD.
LOL!!!

Talk about desperate.

Your first two links are from 1996, and 1992, respectively.

What a joke!

They rank among Washington's largest and most well known businesses: Giant Food, Hechinger and the Dart Group family of Crown Books and Trak Auto. But the corporate offices of those retailing empires don't carry the area's most prestigious addresses.
For all of them, home is in Landover, an aging industrial area in central Prince George's County that is carpeted with warehouses, roadways and office parks.
Originally drawn to the community by its proximity to rail lines and abundance of open space, those corporations in recent years have substantially boosted their investments in the area ...

Giant is bought out.

Hechinger no longer exists.

Crown Books no longer exists.

Trak Auto no longer exists!

Again, NO FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES CALL PG AS HEADQUARTERS!

Yes...PG residents have no vested interest in agreeing with me...nevermind what the news reports...and I don't think the news agencies are making up the news.

Believe or don't believe, at your own peril.

That is the reason why your posts are ignorant because you are judging the entire county by sitting on your couch. You think by sitting on your couch watching tv you know everything about every household in Prince Georges County. You laughing at your own ignorance.

Nah, at yours.

It's the elected leadership that runs the county.

It's the county schools.

It's the county crime report.

It's the county tax woes.

It's all of the above in PG.

Wake up.
