We will be buying a new washer and dryer in connection with a major renovation and can plan for either an electric or gas dryer. Does anyone know which is cheaper to operate in Montgomery County, Maryland?

"cheaper to operate in Montgomery County, Maryland?"

That is a joke nothing is cheap in Montgomery county. I would suggest contacting the gas and electric company and get there prices. Then look at the manufacture rating on the appliance.

Well, even if gas were cheaper, consider this: my friend has gas in her new house but she still has electric, too, of course. now she pays a basic monthly fee to have both before she even uses any so she saves NOTHING. If you already have gas at the house then yes, find out what is cheaper, if not, then don't have it put in.
