Hey guys! I'm going to attend Daughtry's concert in 1st Mariners Arena, 201 West Baltimore Street Baltimore, MD 21201-2501 on 18th March- Thursday.

I live in Shamrock, Glen Circle-Germantown. Can you suggest what means of public transport will be the cheapest for the trip? And please give me some detailed directions since I am new in Maryland.

Oh and the concert will be 6:00PM-2:00AM

THANKS!

I don't think there's public transport back from Baltimore at 2AM on a Thursday night/Friday morning. Your only option is to drive.

Ride-On Bus to Shady Grove. Red Line Metro from there to Union Station. MARC or AMTRAK trains from there to Baltimore. Local bus if needed. That's how.

Cheapest: Red Line to Ft Totten-switch to Green line to Greenbelt. Metrobus B30 to BWI and then bus or train to Baltimore.

The MARC Camden Line will have afternoon trains from Washington Union Station to Baltimore Camden Station that get to Baltimore before 6 PM. Camden Station (right on the other side of the warehouse at Oriole Park at Camden Yards) is less than a 10 minute walk from 1st Mariner Arena; just walk north along Howard Street. Alternatively, you could also take the Baltimore light rail (which runs along Howard Street) between Camden Station (there's a light rail station adjacent to the MARC station) and 1st Mariner Arena, but that's only 2-3 stops. Walking that 4-5 block distance is the more logical option.

As for getting back, some of the MARC Penn Line and Camden Line trains do leave Baltimore fairly early in the morning (probably as early as 5 AM or even earlier). With the Penn Line you'd need to get to Baltimore Penn Station, which is probably a little more than a mile north (and a little east) of 1st Mariner Arena. I think there are some local MTA buses in Baltimore that run north-south through downtown, possibly along St. Paul and Calvert Streets (Penn Station is between those two streets just north of downtown and I-83). The light rail also operates to Penn Station on a shuttle route (and within a 5 minute walk of Penn Station on its regular route), but it doesn't operate overnight.

Go to the following website for more information about MARC commuter trains and local Baltimore transit services (both the light rail and buses):

You may want to look into renting a car. Some car rental places have GPS systems.
