Default Kensington Area - Commute to SW DC

I will be moving to the area in July/August and have been looking at houses in the Kensington Area. Can anyone tell me more about the area? And, also what's the commute like to SW DC? Thanks in advance.

The commute by car would be challenging because you'd need to go through downtown DC to get to SW DC. Your best option by car would probably be to drive over on the Beltway to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (MD 295/DC 295) and get off at South Capitol Street.

Depending on where you are going in SW DC and when you are commuting, using the MARC Brunswick Line from Kensington and the Metro (Red/Green and/or Yellow Lines) from Union Station would also be a viable option.
