WTOP has this poll out for the best pizza places in the DC area. When I first heard about this on the radio, I was pretty excited to learn of the nominees and maybe try out some new places. Then I quickly became disappointed when hearing that the top contenders were Domino's, Ledo, and Z-Pizza. Manny & Olga's was cheap crap we ate at 3am in college. In fact, as of Thurs morning, Domino's was leading among Washingtonians as the best pizza.

Does anyone else find this list to be a total joke? I think if anything it's embarrasing! This city needs to improve on their food senses, especially regarding pizza!!

Duccinis (heroin in cheese) or luigis (fluffy crust) are my favorites.

The winner is Ben Yehuda pizza? Where is the best pizza in town? - wtop.com

Muenster cheese on pizza? Gross. I guess the Orthodox community in greater Washington all listens to WTOP or something - has anyone ever tried this place?

Agreed. No sensible list leaves off three of the absolute best pizza places in the entire Washington DC metro area. Not a valid list.

There are large parts of DC where the only real pizza joint is Dominos. That's the only explanation I can think of.
