Wow, "numbnuts". Nice. Insults are, what, the last bastion for people who have no substance to their argument?

Anyway, yep those first two quotes are true. Are you saying otherwise? I have never had anything remotely approaching a problem at the Metro station, in spite of the fact that I've been using it daily for nearly three years. And, I've never been harrassed by any hood rat kids.

So, you might want to try again, because those quotes don't exactly support your contention--whatever it is.

"But the crime statistics show that Dupont and Chinatown are pretty much on par with one another. And the fact is, neither is an "unsafe" neighborhood."
Another true statement, and not at all supportive of Orlando's assertion that Im pretending that type of behavior doesn't occur. Strike three for you.

Just give up already, and go get your drink on at Nellie's. I'll be there next monday evening, if you care to join me.

Actually my mistake. You did say it occurred, but you and b'fly said it was acceptable behavior to harrass people and steal IPhones because because "kids will be kids".

This thread is already 5 pages long.

Mods will probably cut it down to about 2 posts long on the 1st page...nothing in here is related to 'Daily Nasty DC Behavior' at all in this thread...

Unless this is a show by example thread?

Recent? You don't live in DC. You have no idea what is happening here? Why lie to people?

Liberals - a beautiful hypocrisy, a group that preaches tolerance and acceptance... as long as your beliefs are aligned with theirs.

Not referring to this stupid Chinatown debate btw.

We have that in the DC area. It's just ironic that you have to go outside of the beltway in the suburbs of a "red state" part of the region to find it.

But I'll believe Orlando > City of DC in cohesiveness between different races and classes.

Not to downplay that, but if that was the worse example you faced, you've had it lucky dude. But back to the topic, DC nastiness is something common, and it definitely seeps into most of Maryland as well. Don't be surprised by it and don't get offended by it. I find it comes in two scenarios:

-It's them who has the problem and wants to take it out on someone else. Let them wallow in their own misery. Just because they wanted to waste their life trying to be "down" or "hood" and now are suffering the consequences doesn't give them the right to take it out on everyone else. We pay enough for the hoodrats via tax dollars and personal safety; we don't need to give them our peace of mind. And as for the "educated" people who have to take the middle-school route of taking out their miserable lives on everyone else, that just shows you how status means jack s**t when it comes to self-worth and personal happiness.
-They're caught up in the air of their so-called superiority in a place that can support it. Think about it like this, they're in a city of like-minded people and in one of the few cities where some half-a$$ed liberal arts degree can actually get them somewhere (and it's usually kissing a$$ or doing gruntwork anyway). If they were outside of this DC bubble, their degrees would get them nearly nowhere and their unfounded arrogant attitudes would get them chewed out in an instant.

Keep that perspective, and it'll all become easier to tolerate.
