I haven't really tried fishing in the city. Some people fish in Rock Creek Park though. (only certain parts are available). I normally drive up to the Tridelphia Reservoir. Let me know when you find a spot though.
I now live two blocks from the Tidal Basin. I may try my luck there.
Is there anyway I can get there by take a metro or a bus? Then walk
a short distance?
Does it have to be right in DC? I often see people fishing the Potomac along the Mt. Vernon Trail in VA, between Rosslyn and Crystal City. The closest access I can think of is the Arlington Cemetery stop on the Blue Line. You'd have to walk about a half mile to the river, then just go up or down the trail till you find a good spot.

Last time I went, it was under a bridge, but I don't know remember the name of the bridge.
All I can remember is, the river is Potomac river, and the other side of the river is a big seafood market.

Do you know where is it?
You were probably under the 14th Street bridge, close to Haynes Point. Fishing in the Washington Channel/Tidal Basin. I stay on the channel side (correction to my earlier post).

If I driver from downtown 7TH ST NW?
do you have its address?
7th Street will take you directly to the Seafood market, if you want to fish on that side, take 7th Street all the way down and make a left on Water Street and find a parking spot.
To get back under the bridge, drive to Ohio Drive SW. You be able to GPS that or Google Map that. 800 Ohio Drive SW
