No, you're not. I think you missed my point.

Does anyone ever read the DCUrbanmom forum?

There are people who say they live paycheck to paycheck on a 300k+ household income and why is it so hard... it would be hilarious if it weren't so disturbing.

No, but they strike me as the same type of person as the author of the IVF article... she who lives in Georgetown and can afford multiple rounds of embryo harvesting yet doesn't considering herself financially capable of supporting a child.

WTH?

I'm sure they HAVE to have that mcmansion or they would just die!

I can't wait to one day live in rural north carolina. Have a decent size house that doesn't cost a fortune and live amongst down to earth people who aren't so insecure that they spend their entire lives trying to "impress" other people with stuff they don't need.

Well, you realize what she's thinking. That little connor must have the best day care possible (even though mommy is going to retire once pregnant). Nannies are expensive.. Plus the organic foods are expensive. Plus little connor will have to go to the most expensive private elementary through high school in DC, then little connor hopefully can get into a very expensive university, one that mommy can brag about. Can't do that with many state schools!

I see nothing wrong with what they are doing. I wish more people would wait till they could afford to have kids before making babies.

The media can spin this story anyway they like, as well as the people freezing their embryos. Who knows what's really happening in their relationship? They could be having commitment issues, and maybe they don't want to just have kids at this moment and later find out that they're incompatible. I don't despise this couple because they have ideal lifestyle they want for themselves and their potential family, nothing wrong with that, everyone wants that.

However, I know freezing and maintaining those embryos come at a premium, if you're willing to do something like that why not make some adjustments in your lifestyle and have some kids. Being able to have some physically and mentally healthy kids should be enough. Everyone can't drive their families around in bmw station wagons and send their kids to a 20k private schools.
