Will be traveling from Richmond to just outside of Philly on a Sunday morning in October. I'm wondering how bad traffic will be on a Sunday?

Thanks for the reply. I hope since we will be passing thru fairly early that we will miss most of the traffic.

Beware of heavy traffic going to and from the sold-out Redskins football home games scheduled Sun. Oct. 10 at 1 pm, and Sun. Oct. 17 at 8:20 pm. Their stadium is located just inside the Capital Beltway (I-95/495) due East of Washington (Route 214), so avoid those times.

Thanks for the info. It's a good thing the game are sold out or else we would be in that crowd! Hubby loves football.

You will encounter a back up of traffic if you use 295 (Southeast-Southwest Freeway) in D.C. theres construction being done at Eastern Ave which causes pile ups for miles. You'll probably want to just take the beltway around D.C. and continue on I-95 at the junction in Beltsville heading north.
