Poll: D.C. elites a world apart - Andy Barr - POLITICO.com

In their opinions on policy and politicians ranging from President Barack Obama to Sarah Palin, elites in Washington have a strikingly divergent outlook from the rest of the nation, according to a new POLITICO poll released Monday.

Obama is far more popular while Palin, the former Alaska governor, is considerably less so. To the vast majority of D.C. elites, the tea party movement is a fad. The rest of the nation is less certain, however, with many viewing it as a potentially viable third party in the future.

The survey also reveals to a surprising degree how those involved in the policymaking and the political process tend to have a much rosier view of the economy than does the rest of the nation — and, in some cases, dramatically different impressions of leading officeholders, political forces and priorities for governing.

Federal Eye - Survey says: Federal workers are glad to have their jobs

In these times of high unemployment and economic uncertainty, federal workers are continuing a trend of job satisfaction, giving the Obama administration good marks for its leadership of agencies though remaining skeptical on a key point: that career advancement in the government is based on merit.

I view almost all politicians as locusts, so I can't say I really give a damn about their opinions on things.

Hmm.. I wonder what that says about the majority of the American electorate. They vote for these politicians every few years. Maybe there should be a movement to discourage Americans from going the voting booth. What do you think?

There should be a movement to discourage idiocy

But at the same time I can't blame 'em. They probably get their news from the Big Three (CNN, Fox and MSNBC) which all blow.
