Only 87 K came (+/- 9 K) according to the aerial imagery company that has been doing the official estimates ever since the National Parks foundation stopped providing estimates after the "million" man march (which they were chastised for reporting the more accurate number of much lower than a million by those who hate math and statistics... )

While 87k people are only about 100K less than the average 200k weekend tourist number, it does prove that there are at least 100K rednecks out there that can afford more than basic cable.

I ran into one fueling up at a Dunkin Donuts in Tysons before he drove his armored SUV back to whatever redneck southern hell hole he came from. I mistook him for a homeless person due to his leathery skin, uncut hair and overall general homeless appearance. I was wrong to judge, because he turned out to be just your average Nut Bagger.

Firstly, it was hilarious to see how disgusted he was to be one of the only english speaking people in the facility. All of the clerks were Korean or Vietnamese, and all of the customers were (likely illegal) hispanics. The redneck guy in line with me was almost ready to explode, it was awesome.

As if his trashiness wasn't cool enough, he decided to give our server 4 bucks, when his drink's price cost well over 5. As soon as he gave her the dough, he stormed off and got into his Toy Yoda CJ5 SUV and sped off. He was rightfully disgusted to see so many foreigners making 10X the amount he would ever make in a year because he was a worthless redneck...

The server looked like she was about to cry, and had no idea how to handle such a redneck explosion. I told her to ignore the Tea party guy, and that I would pay for whatever he skipped out on. She told me to not bother with it, I paid and went on my way.

Long story short:

Rednecks suck. Give it 2-4 more years, and they won't be able to afford the 10/gallon prices to come in and harass/spoil job interviews across the valley.

CNN

Doesn't look like very many people showed up. The reflecting pool area was packed, but everything else is pretty sparse. In his speech, Beck tried to tell people that there were hundreds of thousands by estimating the capacity of various parts of the Mall. His politics are fine to me, but I've never really understood how someone who has been proven to tell so many lies organizes a rally to restore honor. Just seems like he should start within himself before taking over MLK's pedestal and Lincoln's memorial.

Aside from the occasional American flag t-shirt, it was really hard to notice anything going on at all until I was at the event itself. Even the rest of the Mall was pretty empty.

Although the original post includes useful information, this is a highly polarizing topic that I don't believe should be a sticky. If the useful information for tourists were put in a separate thread with a different heading, that would make a useful sticky. But, I am disturbed by it being a sticky as is.

Well, it made sense as a sticky while the rally was going. At this point, it may have outlived its "stickiness".
