I think that was the whole point of the drive through the "ghetto." To confirm and/or dispel myths and notions.

I don't see any issue with the actions of the OP. I enjoy watching Youtube videos that feature various ghettos throughout the country. The same reason I look at photos of car accidents, plane wrecks, dead celebrities, crystal meth labs, porn, etc...Because it's there. Because I'm curious. Perhaps she could have conveyed her experience in a more "sensitive" manner but then not everyone takes these things so sensitively.

No need for people to throw the race card in it.
