This is true. New York City's mass transit is far more extensive than DC's and Chicago's is somewhat more, especially the train system. Then again, those cities and their metro areas are quite a bit larger and more populated than DC's. Other than those two cities, DC's mass transit ranks favorably compared to most other U.S. cities. So that's still among the elite compared to the rest of the country.
