hello, i am considering to move to DC because of work but i want to live in an area where i can be comfortable, not worrying that something might happen to me or my wife. Looking through apartments, many places NE are quite expensive. I found some apartments at okay price near St Peters Catholic Church, is that a safe area? Where is it safe for us to move and not so expensive?

If you can afford to live by St. Peter's, I'd say go for it. Capitol Hill is one of the best neighborhoods in the city: low crime, close to everything, and really beautiful and serene. As for other areas, it all depends on what an affordable rent is for you and your wife and your standards for a safe neighborhood.
