I didn't bring my car up, but am planning on buying a motorcycle or a scooter. Would I be able to just get my Florida motorcycle license when I'm back down in Florida, or would I have to first obtain a DC driver license then motorcycle?
What's the procedure for obtaining a DC license when already licensed in another state?
Is there any benefit to actually getting a dc license vs. just keeping my fl one?
I don't know about motorcycle laws, but I know you can't register a vehicle (or receive a much needed parking permit) without first obtaining a DC license.
Converting an out of state license, you'll need the out of state license (of course), proof of identity (birth certificate), social security card, and proof of residence. You'll have to visit one of the DMV centers with all those documents.

as long as you have your FL license you can get a FL motorcycle license that will convert to a DC license (no tests or anything needed). I converted over when I moved here from Connecticut.
In order to get a DC license, you need to bring your old license, and some other identifying info and some paperwork (I forget exactly what it is but it's on the DMV website). Going to the DMV in DC isn't great but it's about a million times better than going to a DMV in northern virginia.
