Those would be per capita income figures, and the missing number for Montgomery County would be $35,684.

Some might quibble as to whether per capita income is the best figure to use from one analysis to another. A better measure for something called 'richness' might be median household income or median family income, as relatively few individuals are independent economic entities. Households and/or families are the smallest unit in which most of us function most of the time.

For whatever it might be worth, the median household incomes for those areas for the year 2000 are shown below. In parentheses is the 2005 estimate for the same from the mid-decade American Community Survey...

Falls Church City -- $74,924 ($87,064)

Arlington County -- $63,001 ($80,433)

City of Alexandria -- $56,054 ($66,116)

Fairfax County -- $81,050 ($94,610)

Montgomery County -- $71,551 ($82,187)

[Bonus] Loudon County -- $80,648 ($98,483)
