that's not a smart thing to say at all lol. Gogo is still DC lol. More venues are just in MD. But then again we all are the same.
Really? When I was in college, all of the DC kids would play this game called "Pull your license out." If they suspected that someone really wasn't from the District, but rather PG or Silver Spring, they'd demand to see their driver's license. When it was a Maryland license, the perpetrator would always say something like "Oh yeah, well, I was born in DC and lived there until I was 7, but then what had happened was, I moved out to Upper Marlboro cuz my mama made me..." Washingtonians were always very quick to distinguish themselves from Merland people.
I am born and raised in DC and I was never like that.
Back in the days we all had to travel to PG to watch the Bullets and the Capitals.
Iverson Mall and PG Plaza were also some of my #1 spots.
I grew up in Oxon Hill and remember Gogo coming from Fort Washington, MD. There are still a bunch of guys up that way with studios in there homes. I have a few records that were MD produced. I remember seeing Chuck Brown a lot back then in Marlow Heights at the Riggs Bank. He was a MD boy I thinks?
Bajan is right! Back in the day, DC people would call people from MD, "Merlan Bammas" because everybody was claiming the city when they didn't actually live there. Everybody from Oxon Hill, Temple Hill to Marlow Heights was claiming southeast. Everybody from Hyattsville to Langley Park to Silver Spring was claiming Uptown. It's not like that today. PG county is no longer a backwater and now everybody reps their own hood and the DMV instead of just DC.

LOL, I can actually see some ppl from the City doing that too . These days, PG's got a name of its own though, but dont get it twisted because when we're all out of town in school somewhere MD and DC will always stick together. All the kids from the DMV that go to NC A&T, St. Aug, Shaw, and Clark Atlanta will stick together in a heartbeat because we all have the 2 most important things in common. We love chicken & fries covered in Mambo sauce and we Love GOGO and most outsiders couldn't stand either one, so we didnt let them in our circle, Point Blank .
