95-100 degrees feels exactly the same. And this was last year.
Last year was unusually warm and there were FOUR days when the temperature exceeded 100 and twenty-five days spread over four months when the temperature exceeded 95 degrees. Time to moonwalk the "week and weeks of 100 degree temperature and 90% humidity."
DC's winters are nothing compared to Chicago's (last year notwithstanding). If you can handle Chicago, you'll have no troubles whatsoever surviving winter in DC.
I had fun clearing snow from the porch/sidewalk (a) using only the tiny fireplace shovel and (b) wearing shorts. Only got to do so maybe three times, though.
The wind sometimes picks up, but it's nothing like Chicago mostly because it's not as cold to begin with. One difference is that the humidity is higher, which does in fact make the same temperature feel cooler/clammier, and makes the snow much wetter/icier.
My complaint about Chicago winters the two years I lived there while in grad school was that they were way LONGER than I was used to. Damn, by Easter the snow is supposed to be gone.

Unusual my foot! It's ALWAYS hot in the summer, with the exception of 2008. And are you for real?

Same difference. HOT! Maybe that's because I just don't like heat nor hot weather or excessive humidity, period. So 95 degrees and 100 feel exactly the same to me. And 94 degrees = 95, btw. Almost every day last summer was hot. Anybody who was outside and watching the weather reports about breaking records knows that.
Good grief, folks. The weather's perfectly pleasant out and this spring, while somewhat cool, hasn't been too bad. Today (4/11/11) was absolutely glorious. Quit whining and get outside and get some exercise. It'll make you feel better, I promise!

Stop whining. If you don't like the summers, move north.
