You'd be amazed. If you're a government/contractor/techie type who has to be repressed and cerebral all day, you'd be craving someone very different big time. I read somewhere that a woman, who rose very high up in government and is very degreed (a couple of masters and a doctorate) and is thin/blonde/attractive, got married an unknown, local actor.

Due to high incarceration and mortality rates for black men, black women far outnumber black men, distorting the overall sex ratio. There are so many black girls in DC that I myself have witnessed black guys randomly stop a bunch of girls on the street and get their numbers effortlessly. Black women in DC can't be choosy as the odds are stacked against them.

My opinion is that people who don't know anything about DC shouldn't be writing articles about it. You should just ask the people who live here.

Counterpoint: You just showed pictures of every single non-exclusive club in the world. If any club has more women than men, it's because there's a velvet rope and some big dudes making sure it stays that way.

Even with these places being second rate sausage-fests by design, there are still a bunch of women in those photos. You can see them easily because half the guys are shorter than them.

I'll throw in my standard anecdotal account that I have in the last 20 threads like this: DC has lots of quality single women and really lackluster competition for them.

Unfortunately, the author couldn't be more wrong. DC doesn't have a lot of single women right now, it's an absolute sausage fest at the moment, and it's been like that for 3 years.

But I'll concede it was true at one point in time, around the mid-2000's. (5 years ago.) In recent years, however, women have left DC.

According to the census that simply is not true. Women in the District of Columbia outnumber men.

I think you're anecdotally assuming causation where there is only correlation. As we've discussed on here before, there's a lot more openness and aggressiveness in the DC local black culture for guys to pick women up on sidewalks or wherever with just a "hey baby" or something. You'll get ignored if you try to do that to others (I've seen many failed attempts).

I also don't think the club scene is where it's at. It's a very aggressive scene and most attractive women I know avoid it if they're looking for someone serious because they tend to meet the "DC braggers", as someone labeled them on another thread, who think being cool is the goal in life.

Coffeeshops, otoh, are full of hotties. I don't know where all these forlorn guys are who stare out the window all day, but I haven't seen that. Usually way more women in coffeeshops.

Where are these coffeeshops btw? My experience is similar to Eugenes..I rarely see attractive women at coffeshops.

I don't know about that. Although black women have difficult odds in DC, I still think there are a good majority that still think there are too good and that men will come running to them. For the guys that you speak of that stopped those girls, I would wonder what the circumstances were (how attractive were those women, what did they have going for themselves, how old were they). To me, a major reason for a lot of single black women in DC is not just lack of available black men, but because of poor attitudes and also the stigma of being single parents which will surely be a turn off to many men.
