I signed my lease yesterday after once again walking 5 minutes to whole foods, barnes and noble etc from my proposed apt in courthouse...thanks everyone for your candid advice and maps. Lets hope the Metro is kind to me in my daily commute to Farragut West..i"ll be back with insider reviews once I am a bonafide resident :-)

Congratulations. I forgot to mention, there's a farmer's market every Saturday in the parking lot at Courthouse Rd and 15th street. It's one of the largest in the area and very lively.

Well, Court House sometimes gets compared to Hoboken, in terms of its youthful demographics if not physical environment, but comparing 12th and Mass to some place in Manhattan only makes sense if you have some "neither here nor there" part of NYC in mind like, say, some of the blocks between the Lower East Side or Tribeca and the Financial District.
