That's just it, though; very few storms follow the track that irene took, which is why hurricans are quite rare in the DC region. There are a tremendous number of variables at work here, it's impossible to tell what's going to happen.

As to the CWG, I've typically found them to be the most reliable meteorologists in the DC region. I became a convert to them when they absolutely nailed the snowmageddon forecast, and they've been about as spot-on as weatherpeople can be.

It can follow a myriad of paths. Might as well say it'll hit South Carolina on 9/11.
