My husband works in Waldorf, MD, and I work in SE DC. We currently live in West End Alexandria, and we are looking to move this summer when our current lease is up. More than likely we will stay in our area, but I wanted to see if anyone has an suggestions for a new place with better commuting options? Thanks.

If you haven't already, I suggest you also post your query in the "Maryland Suburbs of Washington" forum, and give a few details about your preferences. And if you all do relocate to the southeast suburban region, your housing costs will definitely be lower than comparable type housing in Alexandria.

Maybe Fort Washington, MD could work for you. "SE DC" is a bit of a big area though. Depending on where it is, perhaps something like Bowie (around Woodmore) could work, idk.

I would suggest Suitland, MD. There is a metro stop there for you on the green line, and the commute for your husband would be less than 30 minutes. Some other ideas: Fort Washington, Waldorf, Upper Marlboro.

Please tell me you are being sarcastic! Suitland is arguably the worst part of PG. Fort Washington, Upper Marlboro or Brandywine would be decent but it all depends on what you're looking for.

I would say either Upper Marlboro or Clinton in PG County.

And I also offered 3 other suggestions. SE DC is WAY more dangerous than PG.

Alexandria to Waldorf or SE? That's a big difference. Why not try some other stops on the metro?
