Shocked to see Harvard up there too, but no surprise to see Baltimore and DC. You cant have a crime list without those two somewhere near the top along with motown. Lol

"The crimes were weighted based on a subjective judgment of violence, asserting that an incident of murder represents a higher level of intrinsic threat to public safety than a robbery. "

That's stupid in a way, because I'm guessing most of these murders were crimes of passion or something like that. Not someone just getting killed randomly.

The robbery count is disturbing. But I would imagine that the Howard U-Shaw neighborhood was a lot worse 20 years ago. Howard students deserved medals of merit for surviving the crack wars of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

What's really sad is that the victims and perps share the same race and the same age group. Capitalism is cruel.

Not that shocked college students make nice targets for thugs, Harvard is probably a prime destination for them.

I thought the area around Howard was gentrifying? I guess not quick enough.

Not shocking to see my Wayne State on the list, considering it's an island surrounded by a war zone.

Your checkbook would end up getting raped if you sent her there too!

The stretch from GA Avenue where Howard's campus is located up to...I guess L street maybe is still shady as hell. I wouldn't walk there at night by myself. Funny enough I was looking at a condo, maybe 5 minutes away from Howard, priced at 209K, brand new. Awful buy, there just doesn't seem to be any development going on there.

It's just not a good area.
