Default Need help find place to live in NW DC PLEASE!

I need help finding a place to live!

Moving to DC from NY and I know very little about DC. I am a single 31 woman that is a pharma sales rep. I like going out to eat, having drinks, working out, shopping, walking around, listening to music and meeting new people.

I have been looking at Adams Morgan, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Columbia Heights and Connecticut Ave at Military Rd (i guess its Chevy Chase area)

I am looking for a 1 bedroom in the 1,550 range. I would love to be able to walk to places but I do have a car (I can pay extra for parking). Any advice on these neighborhoods would be appreciated.

I found an apartment at Connecticut Ave NW at Military Rd for $1,550 that is 750 sq feet + $160 for parking spot...my only concern with this is that I am going to be too far from things and where the action is. Should I take this apt or keep looking in the other neighborhoods??

Thanks in advance for any advice

Here is a 1BR in bloomingdale which is very up and coming:
Beautiful, Renovated Basement Apartment - April 1st (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/apa/2902897107.html - broken link)

Would you consider a studio? Logan circle is a really good area
Studio - Hardwood- 14th Street -2 Blocks to Whole Foods (P Street) (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/apa/2915130588.html - broken link)

Other neighborhoods you would enjoy that might be in your price range: Shaw, dupont (probably much harder to find something in that price range here but it is possible), foggy bottom, columbia heights, mt. pleasant. not sure what "action" you want to be around.. but each neighborhood sort of has their own kind of action going on. some are nicer than others but the ones i listed are more central and close to city center than chevy chase.

Action?
I do not know what your definition of action is but there are lots of CVS stores in DC now.
I hear they are planning on building more of them too.

Wdc girl thanks for the tips and links. When I said "action" I just ment things going on in walking distance and not being in a residential neighborhood. I am moving for work and I will not know anyone so I wanted to be able to meet people easily in my neighborhood. Thanks again wdc girl.
