I recognize the location of the picture immediately above, with the police car. It was taken from the south side of 16th and H Streets (Lafayette Park), looking northwest toward the Hay Adams Hotel.

Here is a listing of every single concert held at the Capital Centre.
Now this list does not include all of the Basketball, Hockey, WWF Wrestling and Monster Truck etc... events which were also held there.

I do not care what anybody on here says.
There is no hip, gentrifier, gentrification era establishment that will ever come close to matching the above live music lineup.

Someone 30 years from now will produce an even more prolific list from the Verizon center trying to make the same point. The only thing the authors of those posts will share in common is being left behind by life. The acts that haven't broken up or died still tour here, so other than being another in an endless sting of people stuck in the past, complaining about the present, what is your point?
