Does anybody know where one can find out the population of the DC quadrants?
I'm assuming NW is by far the largest, and SW by far the smallest, but I'm not sure if NE or SE is second in population.
Wikipedia says that SE has 134,000 people, but it does not give a source for this as far as I can tell, and it doesn't list the populations of the other quadrants.

Here are the approximate population figures by DC Quadrant (2010):
NW - 324,691
SE - 128,472
NE - 127,644
SW - 20,916
Total: 601,723
I calculated these numbers myself using 2010 census block group data since the DC Quadrant population numbers have not been officially published by the DC State Data Center.
Disclaimer: A handful of the census block groups straddle the edges of the quadrants so the numbers are approximate with a minimal error rate (about 0.14%) across all quadrants. My numbers should be about 99.86% accurate. I did not analyze down to census block level (the smallest geographic unit used by the US Census Bureau - think city block). I do, however, know the particular census block groups that straddle the quadrants to use for future evaluation (It's getting late and time for bed!) I will probably analyze those specific census block groups down to census block level next month for 100% data tabulation accuracy across all quadrants.

Wow, incredible! Thanks for crunching those numbers.
Interesting how close SE population is to NE population. I knew it would be close, but not that close. Considering I just moved from SE to NE, I was almost in danger of tipping the balance in NE's favor!

I went ahead and completed the census block level analysis across the four DC Quadrants for the 100% tabulated population count.
And, what a surprise!
Census block 1018, located in Census Tract 23.02, pushed NE into second place single-handedly. It was a tight race to begin with. I should have figured this all along as Census Block 1018 contains the majority of what is known as The Cloisters Apartments directly to the east of North Capitol Street and directly to the north of Michigan Ave. The census block in question contains 882 residents. In tract 23.02 alone, I had to shift 1,024 residents from NW to NE. The rest of the shifts between the quadrants along the borders were relatively small.
@stateofnature - It seems you helped tip the pot with your move! hehe
DC Quadrant Population (2010) at census block level (my final numbers):
NW - 323,689
NE - 128,673
SE - 128,605
SW - 20,756
Total: 601,723
DC Quadrant Population (2000) below [source: DC State Data Center]:
NW - 303,381
SE - 123,553
NE - 121,945
SW - 23,180
Total: 572,059
