Also saw this article about how 24 got facts wrong when a season was set in DC.

lol yeah, season 7 had me scratching my head at their "knowledge" of DC

and that Metro rule is stupid. this city needs to stop sucking at getting movies filmed here.

My all time favorite show set in DC was The X-Files, but it was actually filmed in Canada (then later LA). I also enjoyed The West Wing.

A few movies that I don't think anyone has mentioned:
All The President's Men
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Clear and Present Danger
Burn After Reading

No.

I don't know how or why I know this but apparently the setting of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie and book took place in Bethesda despite the film being done in Canada.

Diehard 2 was filmed mostly in LA, one dead giveaway happens early on in the movie when John McClain is supposedly at Dulles airport and he uses a payphone, the payphone has a sign on it that says "PACIFIC BELL"

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought this.

Found the confirmation: Smart Guy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The show (which is set in Washington, D.C.) centers on the misadventures of boy genius T.J. Henderson (Tahj Mowry), who at the age of 10 moves from elementary school and gets transferred to Piedmont High School, where he ends up becoming a high school sophomore with 15-year-olds as his classmates. He must adjust to the life with older but not necessarily wiser high school teenagers — his brother Marcus (Jason Weaver) and Marcus's best friend Mo (Omar Gooding). He often deals with the usual missteps of trying to fit in as a kid genius, while being a small kid in high school.
