First they elect Vincent Gray as Mayor, who is a corrupt liar and under federal investigation, and now we have the DC Council Chairman being sued by a 5th creditor for not paying his bills.

More financial troubles for D.C. Council Chairman Kwame "Fully Loaded" Brown: His wife Marcia Brown is being sued for allegedly not paying more than $15,000 in credit card debt.

Before the kooks go nutty over his "wife" being sued instead of the Chairman himself, consider that money is fungible. He's as much responsible for this debt as his wife, so keep the semantics to yourself.

Brown was sued by a fourth credit card company in October of that year. He's since settled all four lawsuits; court records indicate he's repaid those debts. But last month, Marcia Brown was sued by American Express for $15,647.79 for what the credit card company says is an outstanding balance. Court records include Brown's last credit card bill, which was due March 5, 2012.

It would be really nice if the Nation's Capital could at least demonstrate some level of logic while pulling the lever instead of repeatedly voting for institutionalized corruption and sleazy incompetents who can't even manage their own household budgets.

My favorite Kwame moment was when he stripped Tommy Wells of his Transportation Committee chairmanship just after Wells investigated Kwame's procurement of a fully loaded Navigator to chauffeur him around.

DC has not yet crossed the threshold where educated people outnumber stupid people but give it another 10 years and you'll never see another Vincent Gray in office. Even the next election, he has no chance of getting reelected. Instead you're going to see Bloomberg-style nanny staters.

Yes.. I think this trend could be described as Gentrification. What a horrible thing that is destroying the cultural fabric of this once great (circa 1968-1994) city.

So equivocation is your only arguing point? Because there are other cases of corruption you're able to give DC a free pass? Is that how it works? That's not very flattering for your ideology....nor is it very intelligent.

I believe the days of Institutionalized Democratic Corruption™ are numbered. Gentrification is taking over the city....higher class citizens are moving in at a swift pace, which will hopefully rattle the Democratic Planatation to it's core and shake out the apathetic poverty vote that currently gives way to such incompetents.

For the first time ever, we agree on something except for the Bloomberg nanny-staters. I believe we're about to see someone with real courage and conviction to challenge the status quo. I don't think that person will be thorougly liberal.

In other words, you are dreaming of a white Republican mayor (a Rudy Giuliani) type to "clean-up" the city and add a little Tea Party conservatism (kill the poor to feed the rich) flavor?

That'll be a tough task because almost 90 percent of the District voters are in the Democratic Party camp.

This is including older upper middle-class white households in Wards 2 and 3. Republican politics is a tough sell even in Georgetown.

This is including the single yuppie professionals who are living in recently gentrified neighborhoods from Columbia Heights to NoMa to Capitol Hill.

This is including a large and growing segment of the gay and lesbian populations from Logan Circle to Takoma Park.

This is including the white hipsters who hang out on H Street.

This is including a growing immigrant population of Latinos and Asians who historically trend with Democratic votes.

This is including a swelling number of 20-somethings moving into The District. And we all know that younger, college-educated people sympathize with more liberal causes and policies.

All of this tells me that DC will remain solidly Democratic for decades and I haven't even acknowledged the shrinking black resident vote.

It would be like me dreaming of a Socialist Workers Party governor in Texas or Utah. Pigs flying. Unicorns on the prairie. Rainbows with a pot gold everywhere, right?
