Hi all - I've done some searching on this forum as well as craigslist and other sites but I figured asking would directly answer my questions.

There are a lot of $1500 to $1600 studios east of Dupont Circle and South Water Front. Any thoughts on these places including security and commute? I work out of Tysons Corner and wouldn't mind some city life for few years. Also, is there a difference between an efficiency and a studio? A lot of these units seem managed by various management companies so if you guys know of something, please recommend.

Thanks

Efficiency and studios are the same things. Studios are just a more posh description, but it's the same thing.

I live at SW Waterfront, I think if you're working out of Tyson's and are driving to work every day, I think SW would be your best bet. Heck, I took 395 and I was in Arlington in about 5 minutes today so Tyson's couldn't be that farther out.

If you're working in VA, SW DC is just across the river. You do get some traffic in the PM rush hour going into DC across the 14th Street bridge but its never terrible. After 7pm its free flowing into DC.
I work in VA and my GF works in DC. We're living together in Arlington (we've both been all over DC/VA) right now, but have considered the SW waterfront area because of it proximity to 395 and the metro stop.
