Hello,

Very specific question to anybody who knows... What would you say are the hilliest areas in the DC area? Inside the beltway, where is the land flattest and where does it get more up and down (I currently live in San Francisco Area and think I'll miss the hills when I move to the DC region) Thanks!

Oxon Hill doesn't have "hill" in it's name for nothing.

Very generally, areas near stream valleys are often extremely hilly. The neighborhoods around Rock Creek in DC and Maryland, for example. Palisades in DC. Neighborhoods in North Arlington off Military Road. The Cherrydale neighborhood, also in North Arlington. Neighborhoods near Pimmit Run in McLean, especially the areas off Kirby Road between 123 and Old Dominion.
Perhaps not coincidentally, these neighborhoods tend to be expensive.....

DC proper is very hilly. Its situated in a valley full of smaller valleys and ravines.
