On your way to and from work on metro, what do you do? Listen to music, check up on the news, keep working on computer, nap, read a book, look out the window, etc...

Usually listening to my iPod and playing Solitaire or Temple Run on my phone.

Edit: Mind you, my actual train commute is about 10 minutes so I don't do a whole lot.

Not much. Time-wise, the majority of my commute consists of walking to/from the metro, but my time on the metro itself isn't very long (about 10 mins as well). Occasionally I'll try to read something, but by the time I get focused, it's usually almost time to exit the train.

I used to screw around on Safari. Don't know what I'd have done had I lived in the suburbs apart from Arlington.

In the mornings, I check my blackberry and read the express paper. In the afternoons, I read books on my phone with a Kindle App. I have a nook, but I don't really like it. My commute on metro is about 40 minutes.

back when I could still stand riding metro, I used to watch movies on my portable DVD player, like Oceans Eleven, The Fast and The Furious, SWAT, which gives you an idea of how long ago I last took metro

lol @ 11kap

I've always had to drive to work my entire life, but my new job will require about a 30 min commute via metro. I'm big on catching up on the daily news so that'll probably be me.

Back when I used to ride metro regularly, I was all about listening to music and catching up on any studying I needed to get done.

Now that I'm headed back to using metro on a daily basis (45 min commute), I'll probably be reading books or catching up on my morning siesta.
