Smile Any good hairdressers in the DC/VA area?

Hi all,

I live in Crystal City, VA and I am wondering if you know of any good hairdressers in the area? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't mean to offend, but if you are African-American I can recommend a stylist in Temple Hills Maryland. The only thing is she does only African-American hair.

Hope you get a response but I would also ask around in the area directly. Just ask someone who's got a look that you like.
The Washingtonian Magazine periodically runs "best of" lists, including for hair styling. You can probably google a recent edition, if not the most recent (otherwise, public libraries have them). I go to someone for color in Rockville, MD, who is great, but the place is incredibly expensive. This area is so expensive for stylish salons unless you go to a Hair Cuttery or Bubbles (local chain). BTW I have a coworker who likes the Bubbles in Tyson's Corner.

I recommend Fusion Day Spa 1705 L St NW (202) 223-8182. They have stylists that do ethnic hair Debbie Ethridge is the best person in DC for waxing!

I've been to plenty of salons and I finally found the best hairdresser/stylist I've ever worked with. Her name is Julia and she works at Easel hair salon in Georgetown, it's actually about 6-8 blocks north of M St on Wisconsin. I'm female with a very short cut modern hair style and she just "gets it". I couldn't ask for anything better.

Sugar House in Oldtown is great, had been there a long time with a great reputation.

I like Bazzak in Old Town. I've gone to Azita, Annette, and a few others, but never had a bad cut.

Sugar House is also good, but my personal experience was better at Bazzak (but I still love Sugar House for massages, pedicures, and facials).

My friend followed Cody from Shears over to Inari on K Street. She loves him!
