WV to DC area HELP (apartment, to rent, house)

45 yr white married male, 90K job ,near walter reed hospital. Home owner in WV Will commute back and forth to Charleston WV every other weekend (Own a wedding DJ company in WV too).

Need to find apartment or preferably an in-law type of apartment. Budgeting apx $1200 month. Searched and can't find in-law (inlaw=usually furnished basement of house with seperate entrance and private bath). Non-Smoker, Non-Drinker. Want safe and close parking.

Can anyone direct - don't mind commute of up to 45 minutes

Try Craigslist DC.
You can also post a "housing wanted" ad on there. I got a few leads that way when I was in a similar situation. You also get some spams from people who have a room to rent wherever and just send it to everyone who's posted an ad.
Good luck with the "safe and close" parking. The "close" part is probably doable, but totally "safe," maybe not.

Thanks but not really "chasing the dollar". I added what I was making here in WV added $2k a month rent whalla. There is much more than $$ involved for my decision - TRAINING - dollars for training have dried up at my present location. Since I'm in the technology field that means stagnation which means you'lll fall behind.

Patriotism - a former Marine - I will be working to help improve the quality of technology at a military hospital. In an indirect way helping out fellow vets.

Thanks for the help with craigslist.com suggestion -seems to be the way to go for now.
