I think the condos around the Virginia Square metro stop are cute. I always liked the neighborhood. If I had chosen to stay in Northern Va., that was my first choice.

I've been in one of those high-rises in Falls Church right on route 7 and it was nice and is in the $200Ks.

Might be getting TH/condo pref confused between this thread and another, but there still aren't any high-rise buildings in actual Falls Church. You may be thinking of Idyllwood Towers on Route-7 across from Pimmit Hills or some on Arlington Blvd toward Seven Corners and some of those may have fallen into the high 200's, but they aren't in actual Falls Church. There is another cluster of garden-style and low-rise units west of town along Lee Highway around West Street. Close to shopping, but these are all areas that have had some issues. You'd want to look carefully at them before signing on the dotted line. None of them is Metro convenient, so you'd be driving to catch the train, either at West Falls Church or Dunn Loring. Bus service to Metro would also be available if you wanted to go that route, but you'd be talking about an hour each way at that point.

Hmm, the one I'm thinking of is approaching Tysons, like past the Fresh Fields. (Is it still Fresh Fields? When did I get so old?) It's a high-rise, but I don't know, 80s built (?), but upscale. The person we were visiting at the time was super high-level government. I think I just saw a listing on realtor.com and it was mid-200s or something, but still these are all 1 bedrooms, 700-900 square feet, so not so low in price that you wonder what is the catch lol ...
[Edit: I guess it is Whole Foods now. I knew that.]

Might be The Renaissance...it's sort of a medium-rise tucked in behind Marshall High School. Pretty upscale though...not sure you could get in there for under 300K...

Hey, I did a quick search out of curiosity and there is a unit in The Renaissance just reduced to $299,900. Yeah, I can't find the one I'm talking about - it would be on the "left" side of the road after the Whole Foods approaching Tysons, set back from Route 7, a high rise. I don't know if the address would be Falls Church or McLean.
So ... in my quick search on realtor.com, here is what looked nice, what do you think saganista?
Lakeside Plaza
The Cove
Willow Point
Those seem to start in the mid to high 200s. Others in the 200s:
Lafayette Park
Skyline Plaza
Idylwood Towers
Woodlake Towers
High Point
Things get very interesting at 300K. Also some stuff in McLean off of Route 7 on the right there (isn't it by a school or something?). Just fyi I'm an original owner in Lillian Court, but I just moved out of state, great tenant in there.
OK, enough procrastinating ...
