A block east of Lincoln Park...that's sort of just into edge territory, there. The Park and everything to the west is really pretty good (or better), but as you go east, things start to get a little testy, particularly after dark. Starting from Stadium/Armory might be the problem. As a brisk stroll doesn't seem objectionable, you might try exiting the Metro at Eastern Market instead. You could then cross PA Ave and walk up 8th Street and turn right onto North Carolina Ave. That would take you to the sw corner of Lincoln Park. Walk across the park, and then one block down East Capitol and you're there. That's about a ten-block walk versus six or so from Stadium/Armory, but it will have a different, and perhaps more comfortable, feel to it. A slightly shorter route...the first street you come to heading north on 8th is South Carolina Ave. Hang a right, follow that to 14th, and hang a left. Four blocks to East Capitol.
