Default Any success with mail adjudication for traffic tickets?

I received a minor moving violation citation last night in DC, but think I have a reasonable case for disputing it due to confusing and concealed signage and other extenuating circumstances.

There's a mail-in hearing option for this...anybody have luck with this or are my chances better with the in-person hearing? Am I pretty much doomed?

Thanks for any input.

If you are going to make the bad sign argument, you will need photographs. Get out there with a digital camera and take some pics. Then research on the net some possible ways out of the ticket.

Depends a bit on the type of ticket. Confusing doesn't really hold up unless it is blatantly confusing (yes / no, not a shade of grey). Concealed isn't that good either unless it is really bad.
