I have come to the conclusion to live only these two areas of DC due to proximity of my office and access to things I like to do when not working. Can you recommend good apartment rental in Mount Vernon Square /Chinatown or Southwest/Navy Yard area of DC? My budget is $1800 for studio or 1 bedroom apartment. Thanks.

Channel Square Apartments or Capital View, both are in SW.

Camden at South Capitol just opened up. Technically in SW, but closer to Navy Yard amenities (cause SW has pretty much none). Should be easily doable on your budget, esp if you get a studio. They are only $1500.
