One has to realize there are the professional (Program managers, Analysts, Attorney's, Engineers, Data Teams, IT, etc) and nonprofessional DC government workers. The professional staff tends to be more diverse. But most people would never meet them, the IT folks and Data teams especially.
I can tell you that most of the people working at OCTO and the agency OCIO offices are white and asian, but in reality, rather diverse.
The point being is most people never encounter much of what government does, even though it is important. People see the customer service folks and that's it. In general this is a larger part of people's ignorance regarding government in general.
Let me ask you. Does it really F'ing matter? Why are you so concentrated on this?
You're not exempt from being a racist because you don't use silly racists codes. And this goes with you being the race that you ask. You think black people saying "N__(" is ok, but no, black people hate that, just like if you call me, "$%^*", I will beat you with my fist until you start snoring really hard.
Let's get off this topic. Nobody knows anything on this forum about this, and I hate to bring the statistic data that I know for sure about the data that might upset people on here that will raise all sort of BS questions.
Tons of Asians, and White people at DMV. Maybe you should go visit some more. They have transitions, where the second group takes over.

Not true. Some people actually do know about this. I work for the DC government so I'd say I know.

So, you are basically saying, you work at the DC government, yet you think depends on which government component you work for, race is a consideration of the quality of service you get?
I think this thread is basically saying, bad service is associated with a specific race. This is the most bigoted thread ever, and it should be closed.
There was an interesting article about the METRO System in DC in the Washington Times and it said that 95% of ALL employees for Metro were black and Asian and Hispanic applicants were never hired due to a good old boy system.
Sorry. Metro service is completely sh*t and if race quotas were followed they would have several law suits against them. Please find me another agency that is 95% one race. One of my companies was bidding on some IT contracting work for metro and I was asked how many contractors would be black. I laughed at leroy and hung up on him.
i don't know city but high ranking federal was mostly Black
the diversity push does not cut both ways
High ranking federal workers are mostly Black? On what planet?
I work for a federal agency. I have family members, friends, and acquaintances who work/worked for the federal government. Whites still make up the majority of federal workers especially in the higher ranks.
