Anybody have any advice/thoughts on a possible daily commute from NoMa area to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station (close to where I will work) (6-7am in the morning to, and around 5-6pm coming back to NoMa)...
Is it doable using the Metro, or too much pain...?
What about driving? (I have designated parking through my work in Foggy Bottom)
Why would it be a pain?
It's only about a 20 minute metro ride, including a transfer at Metro Center. The Red line might be crowded, but once you transfer to the Orange/Blue lines you will always be able to get a seat, even at the height of afternoon rush. I take those lines from Rosslyn into the city every day so I know.
At 6 am driving will probably be faster than the Metro just because the traffic won't be too bad then. But at 5 to 6 pm there is often gridlock downtown so the Metro could be faster.
You should try both multiple times to see which works better for you.
Of course this is doable on metro. You just take the red line to metro center and transfer to either blue or orange.
