There are some row houses/town houses in parts of Takoma, but that is on the other side of Georgia.
Your guessing that percentage. The neighborhood is a mix of rowhomes and single family/ semi-detached homes.

I am not "guessing that percentage". 95% is being conservative, it is closer to 99%. One can use google maps satellite view to figure that out. I also live in that area of DC, I know it pretty damn well. If you use it, it's pretty clear it is entirely single family homes, save for a few row homes near Georgia. Just because you pass it driving on Georgia does not mean you know the neighborhood. If you think it's a row home neighborhood, you would be mistaken. So yeah, when I say people calling the neigborhood a row home neighborhood do not know what they are talking about, they do not know what they are talking about.
If it's south of Walter Reed, that's not shepherd park, that's Brightwood. There are row homes in brightwood. If it's east of Georgia, that's Takoma. But shepherd park, that entire neighborhood is almost exclusively single family. Calling it a row home neighborhood is way off. Eckington is a row home neighborhood, Capital Hill is a row home neighborhood. Shepherd Park is a single family detached neighborhood, with a small number of duplex houses.

Okay fine its an almost exclusive single family style neighborhood. That just means adjacent Silver Spring is more urban than this neighborhood. Shepherd Park is almost considered a suburb of Silver Spring looking at it from satellite view. Many people would consider it a row home neighborhood because the grand entrance into the neighborhood via Georgia Ave is lined with row houses and semi detached duplexes.

Except many of those row homes, town homes and duplexes on or near Georgia Ave are in Takoma, not Shepherd Park.
Takoma is a bit more mixed in it's housing stock, instead of single family detached homes, it has a greater variety of homes, especially a large number of duplexes closer to georgia. ave.

But Georgia Ave borders Takoma and Shepherd Park. And rowhouses/ duplexes line both sides of Georgia. Both neighborhoods equally have there share of rowhomes on Georgia Ave. Look at it from satellite.

The DC side offers a street wall, tighter blocks and a grid.
.

Friendship Heights station is in MD. If you're going north on wisconsin ave, the station is after western ave . Even the E and N bus stops are on the MD side of western ave. The underground station might be on the DC side but I don't think the poster was talking about the inside of the station.
