I am traveling to Washington DC for the first time and am not familiar with the area. Could anyone who is knowledgeable recommend the best and easiest way to get from Ronald Reagan Airport to the hotel "Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington D.C. Georgetown"?
Easiest would definitely be a taxi. Cheapest would be taking the metro to Foggy Bottom and then walking (its less than half a mile, so probably less than a 10 minute walk). I would personally do the latter unless I had a lot of luggage or I was arriving very late.
Taxi vs. Uber vs. Metro all depends on the time of day you need to travel. Each mode of transportation suggested has the potential to be hell if you do it at the wrong time of day. Overall.. Metro is the most predictable of the three suggested.
OP.. what time are you arriving at the Airport? This is very important.
If you are arriving at morning or evening rush hour.. forget about Uber or a Taxi. You'll be sitting in traffic for an hour and your fare will be sky high. If you are arriving close to midnight, then forget about Metro.
Blue line only comes every 12 minutes during rush hour as well so not a great option. I would say its like a tie when you factoring in walking to the station. Fairly easy to get to National from that part of the city. Of course Metro would be cheaper, but if its late at night then definitely Taxi/Uber.
