What's wrong with where they are now? Why do they want to move?
Because danny boy needs another BS marketing scheme to keep the money coming. Look fans, a shiny new penny! I wonder what the new name would be, Goldman Sacs Stadium? Fans are on edge, many are bailing, even last season when every team in the division stank leaving this bad organization on top, in which every dog has his day eventurally. Hearing the cheers of the opponets team outdoing the locals at home! Empty upper decks...... This owner can move his team to St. Louis and change the name to Danny's Stinkers as far as I'm concerned.
Hail.

The current stadium was not built by Snyder point blank. He wants (as any of us would if we owned a billion dollar NFL team) to put his signature on the franchise by creating a stadium of his own. That hopefully would be a stadium that others would marvel at around the league, but who knows. Fed Ex Field (built by previous deceased owner) certainly is nothing to marvel at.

Besides the point, this is what big money owners of ALL sports like to do, so its not unique to him. You cannot knock any owner of a franchise for wanting to upgrade/build a new arena.
The Redskins have a winning record the past two seasons and 3 out of the past 5 btw.

Sadly DC is a no go due to the aforementioned name nonsense. Besides, dealing with the DC government is not for the feint of heart. Also the RFK site is owned by the Federal government thus compounding the insanity. Who would willingly do that while Virginia is already lining up the bribes...er...concessions?
It broke my heart when they left DC, but I got over it. A good many football teams play outside the political borders of their nominal hometowns. Still RFK is a lovely looking Space Age stadium that meshes well with the city.
I am curious. Looking at a map of FedEx Field, it looks like they could possibly build a new stadium right next to it, slightly southwest to be exact. You could build it while still using the "old" one just as CitiField was built next to Shea. You then demolish the old one and that makes up for the lost parking spaces.
Much more of a seamless move and it would at least cut off around 1/4 of the walk to the Morgan Blvd Metro (Memo to Danny: Build a Disney-style PeopleMover). Is this possible?
I would normally scoff at wanting to replace a stadium that is relatively new. But FedEx is butt ugly. It is a wonder that JKC- builder of the LA Forum no less- approved the design. I reckon his age and overeagerness played a role.
Back to JFK where they belong or just leave them in Landover. No use wasting money, if they don't need another stadium outside of DC. If they do move to VA, what will they be, the Washington Redskins in Virginia?

It's RFK. And as much as it was a great place, it is too small for today's NFL and lacks serious luxury boxes. It would be kind of cool if they played their preseason games there, but then again that would open up a Pandora's Box.
If they move to Virginia, they will be the Washington Redskins. Just as the New York Jets and the New York Giants play in New Jersey. The former since the early 80s and the latter since the late 70s.
