top colorist
Hello, new to D.C. and I am looking for a top hair colorist either in D.C. or Virginia, or Maryland. Any suggestions?

ask and ye shall receive
The Jacques Dessange salon on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda is great. The colorists there are fabulous. They listen to what you want, and take their time. Painting hair, not frosting. You can buy a color rinse shampoo there to keep up your doo in between colorings. Mine lasted far longer than any other I have had. Worth the money you pay, because you'll pay as much elsewhere and not always be guaranteed a good job.
Good luck!

Bang
I like Bang salon. They are cheap, and always do a good job. I believe InStyle magazine had them ranked as one of the best salons for the price in the area.
PS-I am pretty picky and have high standards. (I only get my hair done there... I wouldn't get anything waxed!)

I had a hair color disaster at another salon that will remain nameless. A friend referred me to Danielle at Andre Chreky. I was hesitant because I know they have a bad reputation, and an owner I would rather not give my hard earned money to. She convinced me to go for Danielle-and she was soooo right. This girl fixed my hair color and then some. She knows her stuff! I look FABULOUS!
She was a rare find....

Best colorist in DC
Salon Blue has great colorists. I've been going to Anne for the past year or so and she has done a great job with my hair.

Oh, C'mon--you gotta give that name up
Why leave another woman open to a disaster?

Top Colorist in DC
Anne Landry is a good colorist over at Salon Bleu. I found her through a tip sheet she wrote for Spring - Top DC Colorist Offers Color Tips for Spring 2008

BTW-Danielle is at the Sugar House in Old town Alexandria. Thankfully she resurfaced after her maternity leave. Thanks to Facebook! Chreky just kept up with the lies..... I took the Metro and she fixed my color! Yay!

Color Recommendations
We are certainly blessed in DC with a lot of wonderful salons. I've been very happy with INARI & Erwin Gomez (though Erwin Gomez is a little pricey):
