Has anybody had window security bars modified or replaced so that the windows can be used as an emergency exit? I went to apply for a basic business license yesterday so that we can rent our condo out and "breakaway bars on the windows as a means of egress" was unexpectedly on the checklist for the inspection that we have to have done.
I am hoping that maybe the age of the building or something will be taken into account so that it doesn't prevent us from passing the inspection - has anybody else gone through a similar inspection?
If we do have to get the bars modified or replaced, does anybody have any recomendations on companies that they have used? Thanks
