Speed cameras on 395-Southwest Freeway?
Does anyone know if there are speed cameras on the bridges entering DC from VA (395/1/Southwest Freeway), then on 395 before the tunnel, then 295 (to PA Ave/295 South)?
I know there's a speed camera near the 395 tunnel (near 3rd St), and on 50 exiting DC (around the Taco Bell/Exxon gas station), but I'm not sure about the freeways.
If anyone can elaborate on speed cameras for the 295/395 freeways, that'd be appreciated!

Yes they do exist if you I know it will hard to look and drive but if you look at those new looking speed signs where they seem to glow look straight above them you'll see the cameras drive out VA in D.C. those are a little easier to spot you'll see what looks like three cameras facing one in front of another uasualy black (makes them harder to see at nite) those are speed cameras also look out for MPD cars sitting in odd locations sometimes with no one inside speed catchers the cameras do all the work for them there arent any in P.G. as far as I know maybe a little futher in moco or howard county. But not in P.G.

The DC.gov site's map isn't exactly clear, so that's why I'm asking here.
Compton610-I see people speeding all the time on the bridge, until the tunnel, and never once have seen the camera flash (at night)...I've also went faster than 40 (which is a pathetic speed for a freeway, IMHO), and haven't gotten caught yet. *knock on wood* So the likehood of a speed camera there is unlikely, no?

There aren't any cameras in the locations you asked about. Yet.

There is often a camera car on 295 as you head northeast towards MD from the SE-SW Freeway (11th st bridge). There is also one on North Capitol near an exit for Washington Hospital center. I've seen other locations, but those two I see the most.
There are currently no cameras on 395 North from VA to the tunnel, and none on the SE-SW freeway as far as Pennsylvania Ave. They may add them later. If there are cameras there then they are not functional yet.

Dkf747, thanks for the useful information! How about 50 heading to the MD line (when it becomes a freeway after crossing Bladensburg Rd)? I see signs saying that it's 40 mph and that it's photo enforced, but I also see people going noticeably over 40 in that area and not getting "flashed", so I'm not exactly sure about 50.

It's been a while since I went that way, but I think they use camera cars there. I don't think there is a fixed camera on 50.
