Cool Looking for Fun Musicians

I wondered if anyone could recommend a good adult amateur orchestra in the DC area. I've recently moved here and majored in cello performance at college, but am not wanting to play professionally.

Also - I am wanting to set up a string quartet or trio - mostly for fun, but with a view to making a bit of money at functions like weddings and formal dinners etc. So if anyone out there plays violin or viola to a good standard and wants to join me, let me know!

Thanks!

Default New String Orchestra starting in DC

I am starting a new community string orchestra in NE DC. I am looking for players, violinists, violists, cellist and a bassist or two.

I have several players who are interested but need to fill out the sections. My goal with this group is to not only perform wonderful string orchestra music, have fun doing it! I would like to show case local professional player and have one or two graduating senior per season who are majoring in music solo with the orchestra.

If interested let me know!
