No. All you have to worry about is the fine. They can not prove who was driving the car at the time of the infraction, so no points are assessed.

My advice to the OP is pay the fine. If that's painful, slow down. To get out of the penalty you'll have to prove to a very skeptical hearing examiner that you didn't get the original notice. He must hear that same sob story 50 time a day.

I just got a notice in the mail (first time) out of no where that said I got a speeding ticket on NY Ave and I have failed to respond? Ticket was from 8/21 and the first I had heard about it. Ticket has been doubled and no way to fight or respond. This is a complete joke. If I was speeding, I would pay....but at least send me a notice for crying out loud! This is a complete scam just like their broken parking meters all over the city!

Pay the fine and move on. They don't care and they'll ruin your credit if you don't pay. I parked in Chinatown in a legit parking spot one Saturday afternoon and I had my digital camera with me. I took a picture the moment I got out of the car, as I had family with me.

When I returned from an afternoon of museum hopping, I found a $50 ticket for parking illegally. The camera crew from MTV Real World was filming next to me. While I was away from my car, DC Parking Enforcement put a cover over the meter and gave me a ticket. I sent my pictures to the dispute place on the back of the ticket via registered mail. I got the return receipt saying it was delivered and the next thing I knew, I got a notice that the fine was doubled for non-payment.
